Spring Community Engagement and I/DD Services

  • Date: March 20, 2026

A Message from Angelo Angerame, CEO, Hudson Regional Long Term Care Pharmacy

Spring has a way of reminding us why we do this work. When the days grow longer and the air begins to shift, it's a signal to move forward with fresh energy and a clear sense of what we're working toward. At Hudson Regional LTC Pharmacy, we don't slow down in the spring. If anything, we lean in.

Community Engagement as Healthcare Mission

During the coming months, our community will come together in meaningful ways. From golf courses across Long Island to the skies above the Hudson Valley, the events ahead give all of us a chance to show up for the organizations and individuals we serve.

Whether you're picking up a club, jumping from a plane, or simply spreading the word, your participation makes a real difference for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across our region.

Healthcare organizations that specialize in serving individuals with I/DD have a responsibility that extends beyond clinical services. We're part of a broader community ecosystem that includes residential providers, day programs, advocacy organizations, and the families navigating this system. Supporting the organizations that provide direct services to individuals with I/DD strengthens the entire network of care.

Why Healthcare Organizations Support Community Events

Some might question why a long-term care pharmacy invests time and resources in community fundraising events. The answer lies in understanding that comprehensive care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities requires more than medication management.

Individuals with I/DD thrive when they have access to:

  • Safe, supportive residential environments
  • Engaging day programs and activities
  • Employment opportunities matched to their abilities
  • Community integration and social connections
  • Recreational activities and enrichment
  • Family support services

Organizations hosting spring 2026 events—Greystone Programs, New Hope Community, New Interdisciplinary School, Eden II Programs, Life's WORC, and Community Resources for Staten Island—all provide these crucial services. When we support their fundraising efforts, we're investing in the quality of life for the same individuals whose medication needs we serve.

The LEAP for Autism: A Personal Commitment

For the fifth year in a row, Angelo will be taking the leap for Greystone Programs' LEAP for Autism fundraiser. It's one of the most meaningful things he does each year, and a cause that sits very close to our mission here at Hudson.

Skydiving for autism awareness and I/DD services might seem like an unusual choice for a pharmacy CEO, but it represents something important: visible, active commitment to the community we serve. Leadership in I/DD healthcare shouldn't be theoretical or limited to boardrooms. It should be present, participatory, and willing to take literal leaps when it supports the cause.

Spring 2026 I/DD Community Events

The spring calendar includes multiple opportunities for community engagement:

LEAP for Autism (May 2, 2026) benefits Greystone Programs, supporting autism and I/DD services in the Hudson Valley.

NIS Golf Outing (May 4, 2026) supports the New Interdisciplinary School's educational and therapeutic services for children with autism and developmental disabilities.

Wallace Berkowitz Cup (May 11, 2026) benefits New Hope Community's residential, day habilitation, and employment services for adults with I/DD.

Eden II Nine & Dine (May 12, 2026) celebrates Eden II Programs' 50th anniversary while supporting their comprehensive autism services.

CRSI Golf Outing (May 18, 2026) supports Community Resources for Staten Island's services expanding opportunity and inclusion.

Geraldo Rivera Golf Classic (June 29, 2026) benefits Life's WORC, serving more than 2,000 people with developmental disabilities across the New York metro area.

Each event supports organizations that make tangible differences in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Building Stronger I/DD Service Networks

When healthcare providers, families, community members, and business leaders come together at events like these, they create networks that extend far beyond a single day of fundraising. Relationships built on golf courses and at community festivals translate into better coordination, increased understanding, and stronger advocacy for I/DD services.

For families navigating the I/DD service system, seeing healthcare organizations actively engaged in community events provides reassurance that their loved ones are served by providers who care deeply about the whole person, not just the clinical aspects of care.

The Role of Corporate Sponsorship

Hudson Regional LTC Pharmacy serves as a corporate sponsor for multiple spring 2026 events. This financial support helps these organizations meet fundraising goals while demonstrating our commitment to the I/DD community.

Corporate sponsorship of I/DD events benefits the community in several ways:

Direct Financial Support: Sponsorship dollars contribute to organizations' operating budgets, enabling them to expand or enhance services.

Visibility: Corporate involvement helps raise awareness about I/DD services and the organizations providing them.

Legitimacy: Business community engagement signals that I/DD services are valued and important.

Network Building: Sponsorship creates connections between healthcare providers, service organizations, and potential future supporters.

Invitation to Participate

Thank you for the care you bring to the people you serve every day. Let us spring into this season together.

Whether you're a healthcare professional working in I/DD services, a family member supporting a loved one with developmental disabilities, or a community member looking to get involved, these spring events offer opportunities to make a difference.

Participation takes many forms:

  • Registering as a golfer or event participant
  • Attending festival portions of events
  • Supporting participants' fundraising efforts
  • Becoming an event sponsor
  • Sharing event information with your networks

Every form of engagement contributes to stronger I/DD services across the New York region.

Looking Forward

Spring 2026 represents more than a busy calendar of events. It represents a community coming together in support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It demonstrates that comprehensive care requires both excellent clinical services and vibrant community organizations providing enriching life experiences.

At Hudson Regional LTC Pharmacy, we're proud to be part of this community and grateful for the opportunity to support the organizations making New York a better place for individuals with I/DD to live, learn, work, and thrive.
