Meet the NYS Senator and Assemblyman Advocating For Those With Disabilities

Meet the NYS Senator and Assemblyman Advocating For Those With Disabilities

As an organization that serves the intellectual and developmentally disabled community, we know first-hand that it’s important to get to know the government leaders that advocate and elevate the voices of those individuals and families. At Hudson Regional LTC Pharmacy, we keep an open line of communication with the New York State government leaders who are on the committees and passing legislation for those with disabilities.

If you want to make a difference in the lives of those living with disabilities, it’s important to get involved in the political process. By reaching out to your state government leaders, you can help ensure that their voices are heard and that they have the resources they need to live happy and productive lives.

There are a few different ways that you can get involved politically and let your voice be heard.

  1. One of the best ways is to attend committee hearings and speak with your legislators about important issues.
  2. You can also write letters to your representatives, call their offices to express your concerns, or send an email.
  3. Consider supporting disability advocacy organizations with your time, volunteering, or in a monetary way. These organizations work to promote the rights of those living with disabilities, and they rely on the support of individuals like you to continue their important work.

By reaching out to your state government leaders, you can help ensure that the voices of those with disabilities are heard and that they have the resources they need to live happy and productive lives. Get to Know the Chair of the Committee on People with Disabilities

Recently, Hudson Regional LTC Pharmacy’s CEO, Angelo Angerame, met with one of our agency partners Community Resources Staten Island, and Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti to discuss the current needs of the IDD community and how we can collectively work together to find a solution. This meeting was an amazing exchange of information and a great opportunity to learn more about what Assemlnyman Abinanti is doing to advocate for those with disabilities.

Let Your Voice Be Heard! Here’s What You Can Do

Assemblyman Abinanti is always interested in hearing the needs of the IDD community. You can get in touch with him directly by emailing him at abinantit@nyassembly.gov or visiting his website https://nyassembly.gov/mem/Thomas-J-Abinanti.
