Who Should Get Vaccinated?

Influenza

Annually for all people 6 months or older.

Pneumococcal Pneumonia

Adults 65+: 1 Dose (At least 5 years since any previous dose)

Adults Less than 65

Chronic Lung Disease

(COPD, Emphysema, Asthma)

Cardiovascular Disease

Diabetes

Chronic Renal Failure

Nephrotic Syndrome

Chronic Liver Disease/Cirrhosis

Alcoholism

Cochlear Implants

CSF Leaks

Functional/Anatomical Asplenia/Splenic Dysfunction

(Sickle Cell Disease, Hemoglobinopathy)

Resident of Nursing Home

Resident of Long Term Care Facility

Smoking

HIV/AIDS

***Vaccination recommended at least 2 weeks prior to chronic immunosuppression ***

More than:

0.4mg/kg/week Methotrexate

3mg/kg/day Azathioprine

1.5mg/kg/day Mercaptopurine

At least: 20mg/day Prednisone or Equivalent Revaccination

Adults Less than 65

A. At least 5 years since 1st dose.

B. Age 19 – 64

C. Chronic Renal Failure/Nephrotic Syndrome/Functional – Anatomical Asplenia (Sickle Cell/Splenectomy), Immunosuppression (With Doctor Approval)
